My poor Kendall. She was playing in the house and tripped and fell on the front of our family room chair. Its soft, but somehow she got a shinner. There's a purple bump also that you can't see in the picture. She was pretty upset this morning but now she's OK. I had to post this picture though because her eyes look so gorgous! Her baby blues are green now. Have a good week.

Happy Birthday Aydan
My lil bubbie turned 2 yesterday and we just finished up his b-day party tonight. We had a smaller party...I was not up for a big hoop-la like last year. Our village had fireworks tonight as well and we could view them clearly from our backyard. That was nice. Check out Aydan's green face. I love it!

favorite quote

So we had a good weekend, somewhat. First of all happy, happy birthday to my BFF Tracy (which was on Sat, Aug 4)! I'd put her pic in but I don't think she would like that. I made her a card but shipped it off before I took a pic. Made about 7 cards this weekend and a LO of Chloe and I with a pic taken 10 years ago. The quote states, "when no one else cares, my dog still loves me". Its just the best quote ever because its so true. Scrapping is such good therapy for me!
Yesterday, I literally just sat down for my nice steak dinner that Ozan made and the tornado warning alarm goes off...that happens at least 4 times a summer, so I'm used to it. So we carry our food down to the basement. And I find out today that we had a tornado in our city. But with 2 toddlers running around, who could hear that? I didn't even know about it until my co-workers asked. They were like, "So I heard you had a tornado". And I'm like, "We did?" LOL. So I get to bed around 9:30 last night because I have to work at 6AM this week and its an hour drive, including Starbucks. Kendall woke me up at 2:30. Came back into my room around 3 and my alarm goes off at 4:15. I am like a zombie. I felt like I was intoxicated driving to work this morning! And I get home today, take a nap. Now Aydan has a 102 fever...the drama never ends in my house.
Hopefully I can take some pics of my cards when the weather lets up. Its storming again. Ooops..gotta go. I think the alarms are going off again. Crap.

going back to work tomorrow...sigh. It has to end sometime. It was so hot today that we waited until the late afternoon to go out.

So here is our picture of Aydan making a mess {as usual} and Kendall cleaning it up {as usual}. They are so opposite sometimes, just like their Mommy and Daddy. I know I'll do a scrap page about that soon.
And if you noticed that I put up more pics of Aydan, then you're right. Kendall is so hard to get pics of her. She is always looking the opposite way. So I got her here, tired, while watching a video.

And Mr Aydan got his first bite of a popsicle...

back from vacation
We just got back from the Dells tonight. Every year we stay at a resort that has TONS of water parks and it wears you out!! Even though the drive is not too bad, I just don't like being in the car for that long. I'll post some cute pics tomorrow, but for right now, this is how we are feeling...TIRED. This is a pic of Aydan lounging in the stroller after lunch today, just pooped.

Dealing with the pain
Well...I'm on vacation, a mixed blessing. Of course being home with the kiddies is the best thing in the world. But being home also reminds me more that Chloe is really gone. We are going away in a few days so hopefully I will feel better. I made this page and wrote a lot of journaling to help the pain. I just really can't believe she's gone...
Its so ironic because I bought Chloe for Ozan after he recovered from cancer and then she dies of it. I just can't get over it.
The journaling on the scrap page states, "Chloe, I can’t believe you are gone…I just can’t understand why we only had 10 years with you. You were taken too soon. My heart hurts so badly and the pain is unbearable. The house is so quiet and it feels lonely and empty. It’s only been 2 weeks now and I want this pain to go away.
The first time I had to come home to a house without you was painful. I sat in my car and cried. I couldn’t open that door and not have you greet me. I miss you sitting by Aydan’s highchair waiting for him to drop some food. I miss you barking at the garbage man and sleeping in front of your favorite window. When I take the kids outside, it feels lonely to not have you playing with them. When I come downstairs in the morning, you are not there to say hello. I miss kissing you goodbye when I leave for work. I miss your hugs and kisses. The kids miss you more than ever. I can’t handle seeing your leash or your toys because they remind me that you’re not here anymore. Why did you have to leave?

This is a last minute one because of our crazy week. Used some fun new Love, Elsie paper and chipboard button. Bazzill Bling flower, MM transperancy flower, Junkitz chipboard circle. Doodlebug rubons and some black wire for something different.

Here are some cute pics of my Aydan after he got into some powdered chalk. Yeah, its cute, but what a mess (as Kendall would say).

mourning our girl
Sometimes life throws something unexpectantly at you and it feels so awful. Its been 3 days now and yesterday (Monday)I came home from work (I'm the first one home) and sat in the garage and cried. It was so hard to walk into an empty house without my Chloe greeting me.
Everyone in my life has been so good to me and Ozan. Our family, friends, and co-workers are so supportive and understanding. It was hard being at home this weekend. Going to work and keeping busy really helped out.
After my garage crying episode, my neighbor called me to tell me that flowers were delivered for us. I picked them up and it was from our vet...I just sobbed. That was the sweetest thing ever. Its amazing how hard life can be and those acts of kindness like that help shadow the bad. I'm so amazed. Ozan went to our vet today and talked to him. He told Ozan that his staff really loved Chloe and they are all so saddened by her passing. She really affected them. She actually loved going to the vet! That's all Chloe, all love.

A Sad Day
My poor dog, Chloe, sadly passed away today. I am beyond grieve strickened...and I don't know how I'm going to get through this. She was 10 years old. She was our family member and it is hard to image life without her.
We found her Thursday evening lying on the floor, not moving. She was breathing and we lifted her outside to go to the bathroom. The next morning Ozan took her to our vet and later after she was stabilized, we transferred to a vet hospital. They determined that she probably had metastatic cancer in her belly. We had no idea. She never acted sick. She was actually doing better last night around 10. Then we got the middle of the night phone call at 2:30 AM that she was declining. Ozan went to go see her for a while. She was sleeping well and steady. We called again at 8:30 and they said that she wasn't doing well and we need to make a decision. So we did. We took the family there and they brought Chloe down to us in a room. She came down sitting up and she seemed OK. The vet told us that labs do that for their families that she was being strong for us. Soon she put her head down. She even gave Ozan a kiss but she was too weak to even put her tongue back in her mouth. We brought her bed from home so she would be comfortable. The staff helped us watch our energetic children. We sat with her for 40 minutes. The vet was so patient and sympathetic with us. I held her in her arms as she took her last breath. I will never forget that moment...ever. The feeling of loosing her is unbearable and I'm hardly cooping right now. I want this pain to end. She deserved to live longer then this...we love you Chloe!

{new card, parade layout}

Today we went to a parade and there was a elephant walking down the street...needless to say, my kids were a bit psyched! While Aydan was napping, I made my scrap page. Can you tell I love turquoise??Hope you all have had a nice holiday:)
Here is a card I made for Melissa's challenge. The card was themed "Happy Birthday", incorporate red, star(s), bling, and food. I used transparency on the sides, added some fun text and stars. The cake is stamped, blinged with glue glitter (stickles), and some stickles around the outside. I had fun with this!! The stars and text are Making Memories, the CS is DCWV and Stampin Up, Ink, Ribbon, and blue and white CS are Stampin Up, stamp is Michaels, ribbon is Stampin Up, also used some Hero Arts prism powder on the swirls.

{Not Much To Do Weekend}

This was my kind of weekend...staying home with the kiddies and scrapping my tail off. I was so busy at the hospital this week, so a little R&R helped me. I completed my card for Melissa's challenge and now I've found a new love of circle cards so I made this bird one today and I finally did another page of Aydan. If Kendall would just hold still for me to take a picture, I'd could do more pages of her. But Aydan's the baby so he gets more for now. The blue and flower papers are from the new "Love, Elsie" line. I have a link to her blog at the right. She is way too cool. Have a good week!:)Saturday, June 23, 2007
Friendship Card

This is a Cherry card I made today for a challenge on Melissa's blog. I love her cards and I had a blast making this while Aydan was napping and Kendall was at the movies with Dad. Its actually quiet around here. And with the rain, its an excuse to stay in and scrap.
I hope you like this Melissa! It actually says, "I Cherr-ish Our Friendship".
I'm happy how the card came out but the pic isn't that great.

{Crazy, fun weekend}
I had a three day weekend. Friday, Ozan and I went to see Gwen Stefani. I didn't know that cameras were allowed or I would've brought mine. I missed the best photo op when she ran into the audience and was standing on top of a platform 3 rows in front of me. Ozan said I was screaming like a teenager. I was taking pics like crazy from my cell, but they aren't good at all.

I got some scrapping done worked on this page. Kendall uses a baby talk phrase when she wants me to pick her up, so I based this page on that. The scans are so funky. This paper background is really white, but the scan looks so dreary
On Sunday, my niece, Nina, graduated from high school...gosh she was 3 when I started dating Ozan!! They grow up so fast. She is going to upstate NY for college. We are so proud!!! And, BTW, the school does not wear caps ad gowns, the girls wear white dresses and the guys wear black suits. Times have changed.

{finally posing for pics}
Today I left work early to go to a reception hall/theatre for my employee recognition ceremony. Every 5 years my employer celebrates our anniversary the year after. I had my 15 year anniversary (at the same employer) last September...its crazy. I'll ask my manager for some pics, maybe I can post them soon. Then after work I headed to the backyard with they kiddies and got some cute pics. I always seem to bring my camera outside!

Slide
{Isn't he a beauty?}
After a dreary, cold day(cold enough to need a jacket), the weather let up in the evening and the kids headed outside. Kendall went down the slide and Aydan followed her on his own. He has never done this before (maybe at daycare?) and was a pro. He climbed up the slide and had a blast sliding down.
Kendall is such a goof...every time I take her pic, she wants to see it on my screen. This is her picture asking me to see it.
