Eve of First B-Day

Tonight is the eve of Aydan's first b-day, so I had to do a photo shoot. I cannot believe that he'll have his first b-day tomorrow. We're going to get him a cake and let him have at it!! I definitely will post some pics of that. I'm taking the day off of work tomorrow and we're going to spend the day together!!

First Day of Pre-School

Kendall started her very first day of pre-school today at her Daddy's work...how awesome is that? We both took her in this morning and picked her up but Daddy will be doing that himself from now on. She had a good time and even fell asleep in the car...bless her little heart.

We went to CP today for a drama club reunion. Its been so long! It was really nice to see everyone. I'll post some more pics later! Oh yeah... I forgot to thank John Stroud for putting my turnabout dance picture in the front of the album!!

"A Little Reunion"

So, I had quite the reunion today with 2 of my friends from my HS days. Wes and Sheila, and Sheila's husband, Chad, came over and we sat outside in my backyard and talked for hours on end! I hadn't seen Sheila for like 17 years. Wes and I got back in touch 10 years ago. We all had a great time and got caught up on old times. Kendall got tons of piggyback rides from Chad. I posted some pics!

My Brother

My brother, Mike, is in London right now on business and was supposed to come back to Minneapolis but due to the circumstances of this terror plot, he has to stay until Monday. I know he's OK, but thank God they caught the terrorists. I'm still worried...I'm his big sister. He flies all the time, so he's not nervous at all.

I'm on vacation!

{Singing out of tune} I'm on vacation...for a week!!! I'm not going anywhere; just hanging with the kiddies. I haven't had a week's vacation since I was on maternity leave 11 months AGO!!! We didn't do too much this weekend because it was too HOT!! I did get Kendall some new shoes for the fall...yes, for the fall. Its crazy but all of the good clothes and shoes for kids sell out so early. I'm putting up a picture here because they are so cute! Last fall, I went to the shoe store for some clogs for Kendall in early September and they didn't have my first few choices. Its weird shopping for fall shoes when its 101 degrees outside. But that's how is has to be.

I finally finished this scrap page of my in-laws at Ozan's sister's wedding, which was in 1999. Its been sitting on my desk forever. I love this picture because everyone is all dressed up and looking at the camera. Pardon the scan, it doesn't look this bad in person; I promise.
Hopefully this week, I will get the kiddies pics taken at the studio and I'll post them for you. Have a great week at work you all..LOL!

Goof

Aydan loves to go to the patio door and squish his face against it...so adorable! I finally captured it on camera from the other side of the glass. He's 11 months old now...and he's growing so fast. I also HAD to get these shots of him at the dishwasher with his leg rolls showing. I just love them!!!!!!

Blah, blah, blah!

One of the reasons I wanted a blog was to post pics of my kids for my friends and family and the second reason was to post scrap pages that I'm working on. As much as I love posting pics of the kids, I want this blog also to be a way for me to just take time for me.
Today I finally finished a scrap page that's been sitting on my desk for weeks now. I usually scrap in 12"x12" but lately, I've really enjoyed my 8x11 landscape pages. For those of you who don't know me too well, I'm a true scrap-a-holic. OK, I've admitted it, thats how I spend most of my Saturday nights! Yeah, I'm that exciting...thought I'd post this page. It came out OK but my handwriting is just terrible. Trying to write on chipboard is a bit challenging. This is a picture of Aydan and I (yes, I'm posting a pic of me, a rarity) in our backyard. He gives me these really strong, wet kisses. He pulls my hair and head to him, then he opens his mouth as wide as possible, and just plants a wet one on and doesn't let go. He's so affectionate...So much that sometimes he bites and those teeth are sharp!
Today I got a phone call from my long lost friend, Sheila. Here's a picture of us in the 9th grade. I think I'm being very brave tonight posting these pics! It was nice catching up with her! We went to school together and kinda lost touch when we were around 20. She lives in Houston and is coming up for her HS reunion-yeah its been 20 years now! We are trying to make plans to get together. Hi Sheila! Which reminds me that my HS reunion is in October-I can't believe its been 20 years! What am I going to wear??

Aydan was wearing this safari hat the other day that we got from the Brookfield Zoo but the rim was flipped up. I think he looks like Maria in the Sound of Music. Sorry baby...it's just too cute.

and "That's Mine!" are my 3 year old's favorite phrases. And i've captured it on camera...check these pics out: I'm taking her picture. She poses for the first and then the hands start up within seconds. What a riot! And in the end, she won. Always does. Look at that face, she's too hard to resist! I'm a sucker...

Hey Nina!

This is my niece Nina holding Aydan in our back yard. My in-laws and my sister-in-law came over too. Nina starts her senior year this fall...I can't believe it. She was Kendall's age when I met her. Ozan made the best food for all of us tonight! How lucky am I? If I was in charge of cooking, we'd never eat! LOL.
Aydan is really crawling now and was all over the house today. He is too cute! I can't believe his first birthday is in one month! That will be a fun blog.

Happy Independance Day!

We had such a busy weekend...4 days off yeah. Sadly, we got a phone call yesterday from my Dad that my Grandfather passed. He was 86.

My inlaws came over on Saturday and visited. Aydan took a few crawling steps...anyday now he's going to be all over the place!

Yesterday we went back to my home state to visit my family. I have a lot of younger cousins and the girls were a bit gaga over the baby. My aunt has a pool and of course it rained!








Today we went to a parade with my in-laws in the town where Ozan grew up and our governor walked by us. We just got back from a local thing in town that was boring and came home. We can't really stay out for the fireworks because its too late for the kids. And tomorrow, its back to work!

We went to the Wilderness Resort in the Dells 2 weeks ago with our kids and our friends from Florida, Steve and Cherie. Steve has been Ozan's best friend since they were in the 4th grade. They drove up and then the next morning we all went up to Wisconsin. I love these pics of the kids because the camera really picked up the water droplets.
